2021 Hopkins Ranch Chardonnay

$58.00

Overview

What the _____! Nalle makes Chardonnay? Since it is sourced from the Hopkins Ranch in Russian River Valley it's gotta be good. Yes, it's barrel fermented, and it completes M-L. No, it's not over the top Screaming Yellow Zonkers. A long time ago in a distant galaxy, California Chardonnay reminded us of a Premier Cru Puligny-Montrachet. Be here now but can cellar it.

Tasting Notes

AROMA: Classic Chard aromas of pineapple, pear, quince, light green apple. Layered with sweet French oak, slight vanilla, and lemon pie filling.

TASTE & TEXTURE: Key lime, apple, and peaches. Both mouthwatering and creamy in texture with a balance of delicate oak, acid, and fruit length. Retronasal(as you breathe out): light nutty notes, lemon zest, warming (not too much), white peach, pineapple, and floral(white flowers). Well integrated oak.

WINEMAKER NOTES: The Hopkins River Ranch produces exceptional Russian River Chardonnay, grown organically by the Hopkins family. Hand picked and whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented in French oak and aged sur lie for eleven months.

BEST ENJOYED: Decant to drink now or cellar and drink up to four years from vintage date.
