Handpicked from our estate hillside block planted in 1988. The prime benchland soil and aspect imparts fine-grained tannins and lasting depth of flavor. This is a memorable example of Dry Creek Cabernet. Versatile, varietally true, with youthful fruit and classic Cab structure. Picked at 24 brix and destemmed into open top tanks for temperature-controlled fermentation. Pressed to barrel and aged in 35% new French oak for 16 months.
This flavorful, well-balanced red offers plenty of ripe fruit flavors on a relaxed but structured texture. Flavors of black cherries, blackberries and hints of bay leaves and black olives, with road tar, star anise and black pepper for extra complexity.
