2013 marked the beginning of our drought years. The crop level was below average yielding a wine of concentration and intensity. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. A classic Cab/Merlot Bordeaux style blend from our 25-year-old estate vineyard located on the hillside behind the winery. Pleasant aromas of oak, currants, fresh sweet herbs and crème brûlée with tastes of fresh boysenberries and subtle vanilla. A mouthfeel of young tannins with a spicy traditional Cabernet Bordeaux palate of long-lasting structure and cherry cola flavors. We destemmed to ½ ton bins, fermented for 9 days and pressed to barrels where it was aged for 20 months in new and neutral French oak. Best to enjoy from 2017 to 2025.
