Fourteen years later, Zinot Noir is born again! In another galaxy? No, right here at Nalle Winery. Creative winemaker, Andrew Nalle, has put together an ultra-hip blend of 60% Estate Zinfandel and 40% Hopkins Ranch Pinot Noir. “Zinberry” fruit and Pinot suppleness are synergistic. Five spice marinated steaks will fit the bill.

What the _____! Nalle makes Chardonnay? Since it is sourced from the Hopkins Ranch in Russian River Valley it's gotta be good. Yes, it's barrel fermented, and it completes M-L. No, it's not over the top Screaming Yellow Zonkers. A long time ago in a distant galaxy, California Chardonnay reminded us of a Premier Cru Puligny-Montrachet. Be here now but can cellar it.

This Chard is already showing complex white wine characteristics that will keep you coming back for more. Much more than basic Chardonnay fruit, it shows structured, finely tuned acid, notes of French oak (but not too much), pear, melon, and Gravenstein apple. You know you’ve got a classic wine when the warmer it gets, the more flavors come forth. Serve at 55-60 degrees.

This robust blend delivers deep, rich aromatics of red and black currant and black raspberry laced with toasty vanillin oak. A smooth entry and round mouthfeel expose the bright flavors from the Zinfandel and a beautiful depth from the Cabernet, making for a seriously playful wine. The delicious essence of vine-ripened raspberry, black cherry, huckleberry and blackberry bramble merge with traces of dried herbs. Hints of black pepper appear late, making a lingering statement in the finish while the seamlessly integrated structure draws no notice as it gently supports the wine.
